What are the registration deadlines?
Early bird: Dec. 1, 2010, through Jan. 7, 2011 Jan. 10, 2011
Advance: Jan. 8 Jan. 11 through Feb. 10, 2011
If mailing your registration, it should be postmarked by the above dates to qualify for early bird or advance registration. After pre-registration closes, attendees should register on site in Hall C of the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Am I able to register multiple people from our clinic at one time?
Yes. If you are registering by fax or by mail, please make a copy of the registration form or download a PDF online and complete a separate form for each individual. If you are registering online, please read the instructions on the online registration form.
Who can register for a spouse/guest badge?
A spouse, companion, relative, friend or child age 16 or older may register as a guest of a registered attendee. DVMs, technicians, hospital staff members, and other animal care professionals are not eligible to attend as guests. Please note that CE credit confirmation cannot be issued for this type of registration.
How Does a Hospital/Clinic Pass work?
A hospital/clinic pass may be used by the staff of a veterinary facility (excluding veterinarians and technicians). The pass includes four one-day badges that can be used by one person at a time. Your confirmation packet will include a ticket for each day of the Conference. Bring the appropriate ticket to Customer Service booth in the Registration Area on the day you are attending to receive your daily Hospital Pass. The pass will be listed under the company’s name, so you do not need to list the names of the individuals who will be using the pass when registering.
Selecting Sessions & Events
Should I include every session I plan to attend when registering?
Signing up for individual sessions when you register helps the OVMA determine room assignments based on the capacity of each session. If you know at the time of registration which sessions you plan on attending, please include them on your form. However, if you change your mind after registering, you will still be able to attend sessions that are not full when you arrive.
What should I know about registering for labs, lunches and workshops?
The registration form includes a section where you may select which of these programs you would like to attend. Some require an additional fee, and these prices are fixed, so there is no early registration discount. Please note that for these programs, participation is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis; as such, we advise you to sign up as early as possible.
What educational programs are available to veterinary technicians?
The MVC offers a full four-day program of sessions designed specifically for technicians. For detailed session information, please view the Technician Track.
May technicians and office staff attend DVM CE sessions and Special Programs?
Veterinary technicians and office staff may attend all educational sessions, except for those sessions and/or Special Programs specifically designated for DVMs only, recognizing that these sessions reflect a veterinarian's graduate school training and background.
What programs are available for practice managers and office staff?
The Practice Management and Staff Development tracks offer sessions covering all facets of the veterinary practice, including personnel and staff management, finance, communications, legal, ethics, etc. For detailed session information, please view the CE Tracks.
Registration Fees
How much does it cost to attend?
Depending on your job title, your membership status, how many days you are planning to attend, and when you register, the registration fees vary. Please see Registration Fees for pricing.
How can I pay for my registration fees?

As a veterinary intern or resident, what would be my registration fee?
Veterinarians who are currently working as interns or residents may attend the Midwest Veterinary Conference at the significantly reduced registration fee of $75 for the entire Conference. Please complete the appropriate registration form (see above) or select "Intern/Resident" on the online registration form.
I am a veterinarian practicing in another state. What fee will I pay to attend?
OVMA members welcome and encourage their colleagues from other states to attend the Midwest Veterinary Conference. As an out-of-state DVM, you are eligible to take advantage of the same reduced registration fees that an OVMA member would pay. Please see the Registration Fees page for these amounts.
I am a veterinarian in Ohio, but I am not an OVMA member. Can I attend?
Non-member veterinarians in Ohio are most welcome to attend, but please note that your registration fee will be higher than that of OVMA members. What e-mail address and password should I use to log in?
If you are an OVMA Member or have given your contact information to the OVMA for past registrations, please use the e-mail address you supplied previously. The default password is Password1 (case sensitive). The system will check to make sure your e-mail address is in the system. If you are able to log in, you will then be prompted to change your password for security purposes. If the system does not recognize your e-mail address, please click on "New Visitor Registration."
I am an OVMA Member. Can I use my Members Only login information to log in and register?
This system is brand new, so any passwords you may have created in the past will no longer work. You can, however, use the e-mail address you supplied to the OVMA with the default password of Password1 (case sensitive).
Registration Confirmation
When will I get my name badge and any tickets?
Attendees who register by Feb. 10, 2011, will receive mailed confirmation including name badges, any purchased tickets, a CD-ROM of the Conference Proceedings, and instructions for accessing online Conference Proceedings. These items will be mailed to pre-registered attendees Feb. 16 and 17. Please be sure to bring these materials with you to the Conference, as there will be a $10 replacement fee for lost or forgotten name badges.
I registered multiple people from our office. How will we receive confirmation?
If you pre-register by the cut-off date of Feb. 10, 2011, each person will receive an individual confirmation to the address you provide.
I submitted my registration form by Feb. 10, 2011, but did not get a confirmation or registration materials in the mail. What should I do?
Please notify the OVMA office at (614) 486-7253 or (800) 662-6862 if you do not receive these materials by Feb. 21, 2011. If the office is closed due to the Conference, visit the Customer Service booth in the registration area of Hall C of the Greater Columbus Convention Center. You will be able to pick up your materials there.
Special Assistance
I will need special assistance to be able to attend the Conference. How do I make arrangements?
Attendees who need special assistance or services are asked to notify the OVMA office no later than Feb. 10, 2011, by providing a written description of how we may accommodate you. There is space available for this request on both the online and paper registration forms.
Will I receive confirmation of my special request?
Your special request will be noted in your mailed confirmation. However, if you do not receive confirmation from the OVMA by Feb. 21, 2011, please contact us by e-mail or by calling 800.662.6862.
Cancellations & Transfers
What if I have to cancel my registration?
If personal or professional circumstances prevent you from attending the Conference, the OVMA will refund your registration fees less a $50 administrative fee, provided that a written refund request is received by 6 p.m. EST on March 14, 2011. No refunds will be granted after this date. No refunds can be granted for labs, lunches, workshops, entertainment functions or guest registrations. Written refund requests may be delivered to the OVMA via mail, fax or e-mail. Please note that refunds will not be processed until March 15, 2011.
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
If you are no longer able to attend, your registration may be transferred to another person on your staff. Please note that you may not transfer one type of registration to another. (For example, a technician may not transfer his or her registration to a veterinarian.) Bring the original badge and registration materials to the on-site registration desk to receive a new name badge.
On-Site Registration
How can I register on site? What are the on-site registration fees?
If you cannot register by Feb. 10, 2011, you can register when you arrive at the Conference. Registration will take place in Hall C of the Columbus Convention Center. On-site registration fees for each category of attendees are listed on the registration forms on the following pages.
Can I and/or my guest purchase a pass just for the Exhibit Hall?
