Join us on Sunday, Feb. 27, as we welcome Dr. Sam Barringer, who will share first-hand experiences of how veterinarians have been instrumental in winning the hearts and minds of the people of Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. A 1991 graduate of the University of California–Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Barringer is the director of strategic veterinary operations for Pfizer Animal Health and a nationally recognized expert in population medicine—specifically in feedlots and large calf-raising facilities. In addition to being a recognized veterinarian, Dr. Barringer also has a distinguished military career: Since Sept. 11, 2001, Lt. Barringer has been deployed in special operations missions to Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He
serves as a subject-matter expert to the military in counter-
terrorism and prevention of bio- and agro-terrorism. Please plan on attending this eye-opening event, and hear first-hand how our profession is uniquely trained to be an incredible vehicle for peace and stability in war-torn regions of the world. |
