In 2011, the MVC supported The Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that offers
support services for soldiers wounded in battle since 9/11. With the help of Dr./Lt. Col.
Sam Barringer, keynote speaker for the MVC Sunday
Lunch, more than $1,100 was
raised to support the organization.

Each year, the MVC partners with a different charitable organization, providing an opportunity for Conference-goers to give back to the community. In the past, MVC attendees have donated textbooks to veterinarians in underdeveloped countries, cell phone minutes to U.S. troops overseas, and household items for families staying at the local Ronald McDonald House.
In 2012, the MVC will once again support The Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that provides rehabilitative services to men and women injured in the line of duty since 9/11 and raises public awareness of the effects of military duty. Founded in 2003, WWP offers programs that address combat stress recovery, benefit services, peer mentoring, caregiver support and more. Donations will be collected prior to and following MVC Live! on Saturday evening.
Attendees are also invited to contribute to the future of veterinary medicine by donating to the new 5 for 5 for the Future progam. The initiative will set aside $5 from every veterinarian and technician registration for the next five years into a fund to support veterinary and technician student scholarships and programs. The OVMA estimates that this program will raise $17,500 in revenue each year, for a total nearing $90,000 over the five-year period. If interested in making an additional donation, please fill out the "Charitable Contributions" section of the registration form, or visit Customer Service on site at the Conference.
