Promotional Materials Guidelines
Session Titles & Descriptions
- Keep within the following length restrictions (which include spaces and punctuation):
- Titles: 80 characters per one-hour session; 40 characters for half sessions
- Descriptions: 400 characters per session; 250 characters per session if two presenters are sharing the hour
- Titles should be brief but specific. If you will be covering a broad topic, add a few words to your title to narrow down the scope. For example:
- ✖ Service Animals
- ✔ Service Animals: What is the Veterinarian's Role? (49 characters)
- ✖ Backyard Poultry
- ✔ Backyard Poultry: Individual Medicine and Surgery (49 characters)
- ✖ Tracheal Collapse Syndrome
- ✔ Medical and Interventional Treatment Strategies for Tracheal Collapse Syndrome (78 characters)
- Descriptions should be succinct but detailed enough to give attendees an accurate idea of what will be covered in your session(s). Tell attendees exactly what they can expect to learn about, keeping background information to a minimum.
- Compose your titles and descriptions in a text document before filling out the submission form to safeguard against loss in the event of technical difficulties.
- Re-read your entries before submitting to ensure nothing is cut off.
- Submit ALL sessions to which you have been assigned at the same time.
- If you have more than one session, please enter them in the order you wish to present them, as this is how we will place them in the program grid.
Be advised, OVMA reserves the right edit your session titles and descriptions for length, style, and/or clarity.

- Please limit the information included in your biography to professional details, including:
- Post-secondary education, internships, and residencies

- Organization memberships

- Biographies should be a maximum of 750 characters. Please re-read your entry before submitting to ensure nothing is cut off.
